Climb Kili

Sponsored Kilimanjaro Expedition
 26 September – 6 October 2012

Ever fancied climbing Kilimanjaro? Tackling the world’s tallest freestanding mountain is an amazing but tough adventure and we are looking for volunteers to raise sponsorship money to take part in the Kilimanjaro Challenge this September.

The expedition is being run by ex-TNT volunteer Huw Miles who has worked in the Adventure Tourism industry for 7 years and now runs a small adventure business. He has climbed Kilimanjaro with over 130 people and the TNT climb will be his ninth time on the roof of Africa.

Although Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa, it is also a technically very straight forward one to climb. It is a trek and does not require any experience climbing or mountaineering at all. Huw has lead people from all walks of life, 18-67 year olds, 9-20 stone. The only essential prerequisite is a sense of adventure.

Climbing Kilimanjaro is an amazing experience. Watching a band of gold grow along the horizon so that you can just about make out the curvature of the earth from nearly 6000m above sea level at sun rise is a moment that will stay with you forever. What better way to do than for TNT and raising much needed funds for the orphanage and community projects out in Arequipa.

The trip costs £1400 and you must raise at least £200 on top of that for Traveller Not Tourist/Pachawawas.
